Employment of Disabled People
The aim of Bridge the Gap is to encourage inclusion of disabled people. Remember "inclusion causes fusion". We therefore try and educate employers about employing disabled people. Employers are often frightened by employing disabled people because of the DDA legislation and other issues surrounding disabled people. We can assist you by providing the information you require, and by helping you to appreciate the issues surrounding all types of disability.
We encourage service providers to focus on the individual, not the disability and to develop an understanding of appropriate and effective methods of interaction with people with disabilities.
Bridge the Gap can help you to foster an understanding of the ways in which the information needs of people with disabilities can be met and develop an awareness of issues relating to physical access to library materials.
